On April 3rd and 4th, Massy hosted the 8th edition of the France Bioproduction Congress, the largest European gathering dedicated to bioproduction. This significant event saw the participation of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region and the AER BFC as Gold partners.
An exceptional showcase for regional Bioproduction
This congress was the ideal opportunity to highlight the Health Industries and Technologies sector of the region, with a particular focus on biotherapies and bioproduction. This regional participation follows on from the Regional Conferences on Biotherapies and Bioproduction, recently held in Dijon on March 13th, with the findings set to be presented on June 19th in Besançon. These conferences laid the groundwork for an ambitious roadmap for the sector, in collaboration with various stakeholders such as researchers, clinicians, industrialists, and support actors.
Regional commitment to the sector’s evolution
The presence of Arnaud Marthey, Regional Councilor delegated in charge of economic intelligence, innovation, and technology transfer for the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region and Vice-President of AER BFC, reflects the ongoing commitment of regional authorities. Collaborating with Nicolas Soret and Laetitia Martinez, respectively Vice-President and Vice-President of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region, Marthey is working on structuring a regional sector for biotherapies and bioproduction, under the impetus of Marie-Guite Dufay, President of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region.
Innovations and future perspectives
AER BFC had the honor of hosting Workshop #9 during the congress, offering a cross-cutting look at two innovative solutions serving bioproduction. This workshop highlighted the remarkable contributions of Julien Maruotti, CEO of Cellaven, and Guillaume Wallart, President of CellQuest.

With renowned research laboratories, an innovation and production hub in biotherapies, research and innovation transfer structures, as well as a network of excellent companies and training institutions, the regional ecosystem benefits significantly from support from local authorities, including the Region. This collaboration between various stakeholders enables Bourgogne-Franche-Comté to establish itself as a leader on national and European stages in the field of biotechnology.
