From November 16 to 21, a regional delegation led by Le Tube à Essais traveled to Montréal to strengthen BIOVALIANCE, the Bourgogne–Franche-Comté strategy dedicated to biotherapies and bioproduction.

The mission aimed to reinforce academic, industrial, and technological cooperation with a highly advanced Quebec ecosystem in cell, gene, and tissue therapies.

Throughout the week, the delegation held more than twenty high-level meetings with major sector stakeholders, including the Université de Montréal, the ThéCell Network, the CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal, Montréal InVivo, CQIB, Quebec Life Sciences Incubator & Accelerator, CQDM, TransMedTech, and Centech Montréal. Discussions focused on key topics such as the transition from research to production, clinical scale-up, future skills and workforce needs, and opportunities for collaborative innovation.

The mission highlighted strong complementarities between the Quebec and Bourgogne–Franche-Comté ecosystems and paves the way for new collaborations in 2026, including technology scale-up, the development of new training programs, student and faculty exchanges, and industrial cooperation in cellular, tissue, gene, and microbiotic biotherapies.

Supported by the Bourgogne–Franche-Comté Region, AER BFC, and all partner organizations, BIOVALIANCE continues to pursue its ambition: positioning Bourgogne–Franche-Comté as a European reference territory for biotherapies.
