Arnaud Martey, new AER’s President

At its meeting on November 3, 2025, the Board of Directors of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Regional Economic Agency (AER BFC) elected Arnaud Marthey as its new president. A regional councilor responsible for economic intelligence, innovation, and technology transfer, he succeeds Jean-Claude Lagrange.

On this occasion, Jérôme Durain, President of the Region, and the new President of the AER BFC reiterated the strategic directions and priorities for economic development. With the support of the Agency, the Region is stepping up its efforts to stimulate activity, attract investors, and support employment throughout the region.

A committed player in regional development

Arnaud Marthey, 52, has been mayor of Baume-les-Dames (Doubs) since 2014. With a background in both technical and political fields, he combines a detailed knowledge of regional issues with a pragmatic approach to public action.

He champions a vision that combines industrial excellence, innovation, and skills research and development in the service of future-oriented sectors such as biotherapies, artificial intelligence, hydrogen, watchmaking, and luxury goods.

Already founding president of AER BFC in 2017, following the merger of regional development agencies, he has a thorough understanding of the structure and its partners. Since 2021, he has also chaired the regional agency Avance BFC, which is responsible for managing repayable advances to businesses.

As the Region’s driving force for implementing its 2022-2028 economic strategy, the AER BFC works to promote regional identity, encourage the establishment of new businesses, and support companies at every stage of their development.
It coordinates a network of more than 300 economic and innovation stakeholders, alongside the State, local authorities, and chambers of commerce.

With this appointment, the AER BFC confirms its key role in the economic dynamics of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, a region of industrial excellence and innovation.
