THE COMPANY AND THE PROJECT

Reine de Dijon is a manufacturer of mustard and cold condiment sauces, known for its strong export presence, which accounts for nearly 50% of its activity. Based in a small village in Fleurey-sur-Ouche, the company adopted a rigorous environmental approach early on, primarily due to the need to treat its effluents.

Thanks to innovative solutions, such as filtration systems, Reine de Dijon has been able to combine sustainable development and growth. This eco-responsible approach, at the heart of its evolution, has enabled it to manage increasing production volumes while respecting the environment.

INNOVATIONS

Reine de Dijon has implemented a methanization station to convert its effluents into energy, using a biological process that requires the effluents to be kept at the right temperature. To achieve this, the company reuses waste heat generated by other production processes, common in food processing plants.

In 2022, it replaced its cooling units, reducing electricity consumption and eliminating greenhouse gases with high global warming potential. The AER and funds such as those from ADEME have supported the decarbonization of processes, including the replacement of an oil-fired boiler with an electric one.

These efforts have allowed the company to save energy and recover heat for uses such as heating water used in its operations.

BENEFITS

Over one year, Reine de Dijon achieved savings of €44,000 on gas, significantly contributing to the decarbonization of its activities. The company has already reduced its carbon emissions by 32% and aims for a 44% reduction once new investments are completed. Its ultimate goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2038.

These measures are part of a continuous process of energy optimization and emission reduction to minimize the environmental impact of its operations.
