Hannover Messe is the largest international industrial technology trade show. Stakeholders from the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Hydrogen sector have participated every year since 2016 – a clear indication that Hydrogen is being positioned as a solution for the future and for regional energy providers, which are working towards developing a proven Hydrogen economy in our region. This year, the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region will have the largest delegation of any French region at this not-to-be-missed event.
Bourgogne-Franche-Comté : regional stakeholders to meet
Hall 27 – Stand D75
In the Business France pavilion, the Regional Economic Agency (AER BFC) will represent the Bourgogne‐Franche‐Comté region, which has committed to expanding the Hydrogen sector as one of its strategic directions. Nearly 10 companies are supported by the Automotive Cluster Pôle Véhicule du Futur, the wind-power (Wind For Future) and railway maintenance (Mecateam) clusters, and the AER BFC, both at Hannover Messe and in their regional developments.
Bourgogne-Franche-Comté : energetic climate for Hydrogen
The Hydrogen sector’s expansion relies on a favourable climate within trailblazing universities, dynamic commitment from a regional industrial network with internationally‐recognised expertise in mobility, energy and railway industries, and strong involvement from the Region and local governments in the area. Stakeholders in Bourgogne-Franche‐Comté’s Hydrogen ecosystem (researchers, manufacturers, trainers and regional governments) have come together as one group to implement the same strategy. Bourgogne‐Franche‐Comté is taking the lead developing Hydrogen solutions with proven economic potential.
Bourgogne-Franche-Comté : initiative and solution powerhouse
The Bourgogne‐Franche‐Comté region has many resources that can provide answers to futur challenges. Companies in this top-notch industrial region specialised in metal and material processing have expertise in surface treatment, particularly for manufacturing tomorrow’s Hydrogen systems.
Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, a certified “Hydrogen Territory”
Seven projects are currently in progress as part of the ENRgHy project coordinated by the Bourgogne‐Franche‐Comté region. They involve four areas in the region: Dole, Auxerre, Saint‐Florentin and the Belfort‐Montbéliard Urban Area. These projects include Hyban, a high‐power testbed and Isthy, the national energy storage platform. Both projects provide structure to the national sector that will attract many national and international stakeholders.
With this structure, the Hydrogen sector is more determined than ever to fulfil the regional ambition of developing knowledge, economic value and jobs by participating in the transition to a low‐carbon economy that fully values its resources.
The stakeholders have created a reference document recounting the sector’s history, which began 20 years ago, and listing all of this creativity‐driven sector’s initiatives and projects.
