Looking Back at Micronora 2026: Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, a Land of Microtechnology Excellence
From September 29 to October 2, Besançon hosted a new edition of Micronora, the leading event for microtechnology, precision engineering, and micro- and nanotechnologies. Held every two years, the trade fair brings together manufacturers, research centres, industrial leaders and partners to showcase and shape the technologies of tomorrow.
An international event at the heart of the region
With an average of 25,000 m² of exhibition space, more than 750 exhibitors, over 15,000 professional visitors, 33% international exhibitors and participants from 41 countries, Micronora demonstrated its strong national and international reach.
For AER BFC, the event provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the region’s expertise and connect companies with new opportunities for business development, cooperation and investment.
For four days, the AER BFC team was present at stand 513 – Hall C, alongside, in particular, Arnaud MARTHEY, President, and Agnès RAMILLON, Managing Director.
A region where microtechnologies serve a wide range of industries
AER BFC’s presence at Micronora centred around a strong message:
Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, a Land of Microtechnology Excellence
This positioning is particularly relevant given the diversity of sectors in which the region’s expertise is deployed, including aerospace, space and defence, luxury and exceptional know-how, healthcare and biotherapies, mobility, energy and hydrogen.
Four days focused on the challenges facing industry
From the opening of the trade fair, discussions provided an opportunity to examine the transformations underway in industry and the challenges facing competitiveness, with the participation of Jérôme DURAIN, President of the Burgundy-Franche-Comté Region.
The first day also continued with the exhibitors’ evening on Tuesday, September 29, a convivial occasion to extend discussions and meet the various stakeholders attending Micronora in a more informal setting.
The second day placed a particular focus on the challenges facing the aerospace, space and defence (ASD) sectors, with a programme dedicated to sovereignty, innovation, supply chains, research and technology, and the transformation of the sector.
This theme also echoed Micronora’s 2026 ZOOM, dedicated to the role of microtechnologies in the ASD industry.
Luxury and exceptional know-how: a highlight for AER BFC
The third day was a key highlight of AER BFC’s presence, with two round tables dedicated to the new industrial challenges facing the luxury sector.
The first, focusing on innovation and environmental responsibility, brought together:
- Alexandre MEYER – Asterria
- Raphaël Silvant – Silvant
- Marie-Christine Grocq-Parruitte – MCGP
The second, dedicated to industrial challenges and competitiveness, brought together:
- Thierry Bailly – Roland Bailly
- Jean-Claude Ferniot – Decod’hor
- Sébastien Thibaud – Supmicrotech
With more than 100 participants, these two events provided an opportunity to bring together the perspectives of companies, training and education stakeholders, innovation players and regional ecosystem partners on the transformation of the sector.
The discussions continued in a more informal setting with a gourmet reception hosted at the AER BFC stand, bringing the round tables to a close while providing further opportunities for speakers, participants and partners to exchange ideas.
Micro & Nano Event: connecting companies beyond the trade fair
The networking momentum continued with the Micro & Nano Event, of which AER BFC is a partner.
This European B2B event, built around targeted meetings, pitch sessions and business matchmaking, complements the Micronora programme by fostering new collaborations and partnerships.
On Thursday, October 1, AER BFC took part in the Micro & Nano Event networking evening, held at Comptoir Général in Besançon. This informal gathering provided an opportunity to continue discussions initiated during the trade fair and foster new connections among participants.
On Friday, October 2, AER BFC also attended the pitch session organised as part of the Micro & Nano Event, supporting discussions and helping facilitate connections between the participating stakeholders.
Together, these initiatives helped extend the momentum of Micronora beyond the exhibition floor and foster the emergence of new collaborations.
A collective effort
Once again, this edition of Micronora highlighted the strength and diversity of the regional ecosystem and the ability of its stakeholders to address the major challenges facing industry.
AER BFC would like to thank the companies it met, the speakers, partners, service providers, the organisers of Micronora and the Micro & Nano Event, as well as all the participants who contributed to making these four days a major opportunity for networking, discussion and exchange.
Thank you all for your presence, your trust and the quality of the discussions.
