The Burgundy-Franche-Comté Region and the Burgundy-Franche-Comté Regional Economic Agency highlight the region’s industrial excellence at the Global Industrie trade fair
The Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region, the Regional Economic Agency of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (AER BFC), and the CCI Bourgogne Franche-Comté will be present at the Global Industrie fair in Paris, from March 25 to 28. This participation illustrates the commitment of the region which showcases its industrial excellence in France, valuing its key sectors.
A common regional stand
The Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region and the AER BFC, alongside the CCI, will welcome visitors at a regional pavilion. This fair will be an opportunity to meet us (Stand 5F42 – Hall 5A) around industrial projects and to discover the various opportunities offered by our territory. Nicolas SORET, Vice-President in charge of finance, economic development, the SSE, and employment at the Region will be present on the first day of the fair. Global Industrie will also be a showcase for the 22 regional companies present, reflecting the strength of the local industrial fabric:

A dynamic industrial ecosystem
Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is distinguished by its industrial excellence, holding the first place in France for the rate of industrial employment. 30% of the region’s executives work in the industrial sector (national average: 17%) and nearly 60% of the workforce are specialized in key areas such as mechanics, metallurgy, transportation, the food industry, and plastics. The regional industrial employment (excluding temporary work) is 23%, against 15.8% for the national average. Here are some key figures:
- 45,000 jobs in the automotive and mobility sectors,
- 52,000 jobs in mechanics and metallurgy,
- 10,000 jobs in energy.
A sustainable and innovative industry
The Global Industrie fair will be an ideal platform to promote the strategic sectors of the region, notably hydrogen, health, luxury, mobility, food, energy, microtechniques, wood, digital, and even logistics. Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is particularly moving towards a new era of innovation and sustainable development with the recent renewal of the 10 Industry Territories in our area. These industrial companies are entering a crucial phase of ecological transition, innovation, and skills development.

A continuous commitment to industrial excellence
The presence of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté at the Global Industrie fair embodies its leadership position in the industrial sector, reflecting an ecosystem rich in know-how and innovation. The Region will support the presence of regional companies at Micronora, the microtechniques fair, in a renewed format with a startups area and an SME area, from September 24 to 27 in Besançon. This continuous engagement in events of national and international stature demonstrates the will of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté to remain at the forefront of innovation and industrial development, making the region a privileged place for welcoming foreign investments (5th national place in terms of Direct Foreign Investments).
About
This regional presence at the Global Industrie fair is part of the Region’s program for collective international actions implemented by the CCI Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and the AER Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. The budget allocated by the Region to all these collective international actions amounts to 1.2 million euros for about thirty operations distributed sectorally (industry, agri-food, digital…) and benefiting around 500 regional companies per year.
More broadly, in 2024, the Region will dedicate 67.4 million euros to its policy in favor of economic development, employment, and the social and solidarity economy. In this respect, the regional authority conducts an active policy of support for sectors aimed at consolidating the regional industrial fabric by supporting federative collective organizations that provide a service to companies.
